April 29 Update on School Closure

Good evening Tubman Families,

After carefully reviewing all of the State of California guidelines, we will not open school on Monday, May 4th. For the safety of our Tubman student-leaders and community (staff), we are canceling on-campus instruction indefinitely. Indefinitely means that Tubman will stay closed until we receive information that students and staff are safe to come back to school. In the event we do not come back to school this year, we still will hold 8th grade promotion. We will hold 8th grade promotion on a Saturday before the start of the next academic school year. Once we know more information of when this is, I will share details with everyone.

For the time being, we will continue to utilize our Tubman Distance Learning Plan. We will continue to offer both online and printed learning resources during this school closure to ensure that all students have the opportunity to engage in meaningful learning. Please make sure you are connected to Class DoJo so you can take part in our Distance Learning Plan and communicate with your respective teachers.

Please know that I understand what everyone is going through right now. I am a parent myself and I know that Distance Learning is not easy and can be very challenging both academically and emotionally. Feel free to reach out to me at rwoodard@tubmancharter.org. I am here for you and will help you along the way. Together, we will get through this uncertain time.

Thank you everyone for your continued support and one more thing...Go Tigers!

Sincerely,

Principal Woodard
